The Macau government collected a total of MOP$34.8 billion (US$4.3 billion) in gaming taxes for the first four months of 2026 combined, representing a year-on-year increase of 16% according to latest data from the Financial Services Bureau.

The figure included an 18.7% year-on-year and 2.3% month-on-month increase in gaming taxes in April to MOP$9.07 billion (US$1.12 billion). The April tax revenue corresponds to Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for March. In March, GGR totaled MOP$22.6 billion (US$2.8 billion), a 15% increase year-on-year.

The data also show that total government revenue has reached MOP$41.3 billion (US$5.13 billion) so far in 2026, with gaming taxes accounting for 84% of the total.

The Macau government has set its budgeted gaming tax revenue for fiscal year 2026 at MOP$92.7 billion (US$11.5 billion), meaning that tax revenue in the first four months of the year has already reached 37.7% of the annual budget.
