Korea’s Paradise City in Incheon has teamed up with duty-free operator Lotte Duty Free in a bid to boost Chinese tourism.
The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding late last week at Paradise City under which they will create a “one-stop travel and retail experience” linking accommodation, shopping and entertainment. The partnership, which aims to leverage Lotte Duty Free’s network of 2.5 million foreign members, will integrate customer data and marketing channels to strengthen engagement with overseas travelers, specifically those from China, they said during a signing ceremony.
The Korea Times reported that the partnership will focus on two main areas. It will first link membership programs and premium services to encourage new visits and repeat customers, with expanded perks for high-spending shoppers, coupon book distribution, membership upgrades and premium accommodation packages.
It will also see promo videos for Paradise City shown at Lotte Duty Free’s stores and online channels.
The goal, the companies added, is to create synergies by attracting new visitors and encouraging repeat stays through integrated membership and premium services, while enhancing brand competitiveness.
Paradise City noted that the recent acquisition of the 501-room Grand Hyatt Incheon West Tower has boosted its visitor infrastructure and provided greater capacity to fulfil demand from the lucrative Chinese tourism market.
