“The right-hand daughter”
Maisy Ho was the third daughter of Stanley Ho and his second wife, Lucina Laam. Her father once described her as the daughter who was “The right-hand daughter.” She graduated from Pepperdine University in California with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Telecommunications and Psychology.
She was conferred an Honorary University Fellowship by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) in 2018 and an Honorary Fellowship by the HKU School of Professional Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) in 2024.
Professional and philanthropic contributions
While she maintained a low profile as a long-standing Executive Director of Shun Tak Holdings, Maisy Ho was deeply committed to philanthropy and public service. Her notable roles included Chairperson and Member of the Board of Directors of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, founding President of the Hong Kong Liaoning Confraternity and executive Vice-Chairman of the Hong Kong Volunteers Federation.
In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star (BBS) by the HKSAR Government in 2016 and was appointed a Non-official Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2024.
Final public appearance
According to Hong Kong media reports, Maisy Ho’s last public appearance was in November last year, when she filmed a video as the Founding President of the Hong Kong Liaoning Confraternity to encourage citizens to vote in the Legislative Council elections.
In that same month, following a fatal fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, she joined Pansy Ho, Daisy Ho and Shun Tak Holdings in donating HK$10 million (US$1.27 million) to a disaster relief fund to support affected residents and expressed condolences to the family of a fallen firefighter.
