Singapore welcomed a total of 1.50 million visitor arrivals in February, up 9.0% compared with the same month last year although flat with January visitation figures.
The year-on-year surge was driven by arrivals from mainland China, which were up 61.3% year-on-year according to information from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) – aided by the timing of the Chinese New Year holiday from 15 to 23 February. This was also in spite of a notice issued by the Chinese Embassy in Singapore warning Chinese citizens against gambling during the Chinese New Year holiday.
Visitor arrivals from mainland China in February totaled 432,330, making it Singapore’s top source market for the period ahead of Indonesia (167,040), Malaysia (90,210), Australia (80,750) and South Korea (65,670).
The STB’s statistics show that the number of overnight visitors during the month grew 6.2% year-on-year to 1.11 million although average length of stay shortened slightly to 3.39 days.
For the first two months of 2026 combined, China has contributed a total of 704,280 visitors to Singapore, representing a 9.3% improvement over the same period last year.
