According to information provided by the hotel sector and cited by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Macau’s hotel establishments recorded an average occupancy rate of 95.6% over this year’s nine-day Chinese New Year Golden Week. The highest occupancy rate was seen on the fourth day of the Chinese New Year, Friday 20 February, when occupancy reached 99.2%.

Mainland China’s nine-day Chinese New Year holiday has now ended. Based on the latest provisional figures, Macau recorded 1.54 million inbound visitor arrivals during the holiday period, averaging 173,000 per day – a 5.5% increase compared with the daily average during the 2025 Chinese New Year Golden Week.

This daily average also surpassed the 2019 Chinese New Year Golden Week daily average of 171,702, marking the highest average daily visitor volume for the Chinese New Year holiday since statistics have been compiled.

MGTO noted that among inbound visitors, mainland Chinese visitors accounted for 1.21 million trips, averaging 134,000 per day, up 7.2% from the 2025 Golden Week daily average. International visitors totaled 710,000 trips, averaging nearly 7,900 per day, an 8.2% rise compared with 2025.

Visitor arrivals continued to increase over the four days from Chinese New Year’s Eve to the third day of the Chinese New Year.
