Galaxy has officially opened its new uber-high-end hotel, Capella at Galaxy Macau – described as the pinnacle of Galaxy Macau’s “experiential offering”.
Designed to house Galaxy’s very top guests, Capella at Galaxy Macau is, the company said, conceived as an ultra-residential retreat, offering privacy, expansive space and superlative service.
It comprises just 95 suites and penthouses, maintaining a low key count and therefore a sense of intimacy and seclusion.
Galaxy said the opening further strengthens its flagship property’s status as a premier experiential destination, offering guests a highly curated way to experience the dynamism of the resort and UNESCO World Heritage–recognized Macau.
“Galaxy Macau was created as a destination where the world’s finest hospitality and ultra-luxury experiences come together,” said Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer – Macau of Galaxy Entertainment Group.
“We are delighted to reveal Capella at Galaxy Macau to our treasured guests from around the world, showcasing a new expression of our signature and ever-evolving ‘World Class Asian Heart’ service – not just personalized but anticipated – promising that true exclusivity is no longer about spectacle, but about scarcity.”
Clive Edwards, Senior Vice President, Operations, Capella Hotel Group, added,
“This strategic partnership positions Capella at Galaxy Macau as a distinctive expression of our brand vision: an intimate, residential retreat within an integrated resort context. Guests enjoy seamless access to Galaxy’s world-class amenities while experiencing the culturally immersive hospitality that defines Capella – from our Capella Culturists to curated experiences celebrating Macau’s rich heritage.”
According to GEG, Capella at Galaxy Macau was designed with Paris-based studio Moinard Bétaille and introduces a distinct design sensibility influenced by jungle-inspired motifs found throughout the world of fashion, defined by craftsmanship, sophistication and vintage luxury accents.
Imagined as a gilded jungle, the exterior draws inspiration from Macau’s tropical landscape while offering a sleek, residential interpretation of ultra-luxury. Rather than enclosed opulence, the architecture and interiors emphasize soft curves and fluid forms, mirroring waterways, light, airflow and rainforest canopies – brought to life through tactile materials to create a deeply immersive experience.
Galaxy also noted that Capella at Galaxy Macau offers some of the largest accommodations in Southern China, with its two- and four-bedroom penthouses featuring expansive indoor-outdoor living spaces with terraces, sunrooms and private infinity pools overlooking Hengqin Island.
The four-bedroom penthouses span nearly 700 square meters and include a private Winter Garden, wellness room with massage chair and Technogym equipment, games room, butler pantry, media room with home theater and karaoke system, and spa-like marble bathrooms. The two-bedroom penthouses include similar amenities and a dedicated “Very Important Kids” room for families.
One- and two-bedroom suites begin at 128 square meters and feature indoor relaxation pools, Amazonite marble bathrooms and jungle-inspired hand-finished wall coverings extending into canopy-style ceilings.
Personalized service includes 24-hour butler service, complimentary minibar, premium Chinese tea sets, Santa Maria Novella bath amenities, locally sourced pre-batched cocktails and precision-brewed coffee machines. Capella butlers and Culturists work together to shape each stay around individual preferences.
Experiences curated by Culturists connect guests to Macau’s heritage and contemporary culture, from art tours and baijiu tastings to culinary masterclasses and private helicopter excursions.
Capella at Galaxy Macau also introduces three dining and bar concepts.
Pony & Plume is a whisky and cocktail bar featuring over 650 whiskies curated across eight flavor profiles, including rare and limited-edition bottles. Signature smoke-infused cocktails and guided tastings celebrate precision and ritual.
Botanica is a 48-seat restaurant led by Executive Chef Stephen Hsu, serving international comfort classics reimagined with Asian influences in a tropical-inspired setting.
In 2026, Michelin-starred Hong Kong chef Vicky Cheng will open an independent fine-dining restaurant within Capella at Galaxy Macau, presenting modern French cuisine shaped by his distinctive culinary vision.
Francis Lui, Chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group, said the property sets “a new reference point for hospitality in Macau and globally,” combining architecture, service, gastronomy and residential privacy into a singular ultra-luxury experience.
