WMS adds new games and services to its already strong G2E 2011 line up

WMS Gaming Inc has added to its already strong product line-up for the Global Gaming Expo (G2E®) this month in Las Vegas.

Joining the previously announced offerings will be new slot games inspired by some of the world’s most famous entertainment brands and franchises. These include a game based on the iconic Hollywood film The Wizard of Oz™; games inspired by popular television game shows including Press Your Luck®, as well as family favourites such as Clue™ and Monopoly™ from the board game rights owner and digital game developer Hasbro.

WMS says that the new products—in common with all the company’s game offerings—are designed to drive casinos’ operational performance by engaging existing players, and attracting new demographics.

The latest titles demonstrated by WMS at G2E 2011 include:

Press Your Luck™—This game is based on a hit US television game show first aired in the 1980s. Players need to keep the ‘Whammy’ away to continue the bonus. (The Whammy is a red cartoon creature wearing a cape featured in the TV game show. A contestant landing on any of the Whammy’s spaces on the game board risks losing his or her accumulated prize money.) The WMS version based on a three-reel mechanical format is designed for players that want a volatile base game with video reel bonus mechanics. The Press Your Luck theme features some of the different bonus rounds from the premium Press Your Luck video slot which had its debut in 2010.

Cascading Reels™ 5×4—The Cascading Reels 5×4 family of games builds on the popular Cascading Reels series with a fourth row of symbols, Dual Cash Progressives, two Free Play Progressives and Fixed Free Play Awards. Cascading Reels 5×4 games are available in two versions—the Invaders! series and Ancient Magicke™ series.

Power Spins™—This product is based on the mechanic from WMS’s The Lord of the Rings™ game. Players can activate a Power Spin® event at any time to increase their chances of winning. Depending on the outcome of the Power Spin event, it’s possible for players to exceed the normal maximum bet per game. That in turn gives the sort of excitement favoured by players who love volatile games.

Life of Luxury® Deluxe—It’s the follow-up to the successful Life of Luxury Progressive series. The game is designed for the local area progressive player looking for the chance at a life-changing jackpot. There are six progressive levels. In this Deluxe version, players have the chance to win five times the top progressive award. And even without the activation of that multiplier, the ‘base’ level of the top progressive award is worth five times the second level.

Epic Monopoly™—WMS says this is the first premium game to use the Super Multi-Pay® interface and the first Monopoly game to feature a wheel. With Super Multi-Pay, multiple reel-sets can be played at once, even at minimum bet, with BONUS and SPECIAL symbols replicating across all the reel-sets that in play. Epic Monopoly also features a 32-inch top monitor and multiple bonusing options.

Super Team™—The Super Team theme is the first CPU-NXT®3 game to debut from WMS. It’s also configured for WMS’s Player’s Life® Web Services. Player’s Life Web Services is an opt-in product for players allowing them to register and stay connected to their favourite casinos and favourite games. In the Super Team game, the Hero Editor function allows players to develop their own characters. The game includes 21 different bonus heroes divided into two teams. The Super Team game is designed to appeal to the player looking for continual bonuses and a fun experience using state-of- the-art technology and adaptive, persistent state features. The term ‘persistent state’ was originally coined in the world of online role play games, where players can save a game, log off and then return later picking up where they left off.

Clue™—Is based on the classic board game (known as Cluedo™ in some international markets). The Clue theme allows multiple players on a bank of machines to work together to ‘solve’ a mystery. Players choose a character from the board game when entering the slot game. Six bonuses offer the chance to open locked rooms. At the end of every bonus, the player gets a chance to solve a mystery and win a progressive jackpot. If the player does not solve the mystery, the next player attempting to solve the mystery has better odds at solving it. The game is also Player’s Life Web Services-enabled.

THE WIZARD OF OZ Journey to Oz™—This is WMS’ largest adventure yet from THE WIZARD OF OZ brand. It’s a communal slot offering extras such as Collaborative Gaming™ where players can work together in bonus rounds; sensory features such as BOSE® 3SPACE® Surround Sound gaming chairs, a wide area progressive jackpot and WMS’s first 1024-ways base games (where players have 1,024 ways to win per spin). During the Bigger Event® bonus, Glinda the Good Witch spins a large community wheel mounted on dual 52-inch overhead screens, awarding credits or one of five special character bonuses.

MONOPOLY Party Train®—The theme takes numerous player-popular mechanics from previous MONOPOLY slots and enhances them with additional features. Available in mechanical and video base game versions, the Party Train game introduces the Mooove feature that can randomly take players around the MONOPOLY board for free spin enhancements, bonus triggers and more! Players entering the Free Spin Bonus can have their bonus enhanced with extra spins, two WILD Reels, extra dice rolls or higher available multipliers, depending on their location on the board.
