Sands China Ltd has become the sixth and final of Macau’s concessionaires to announce the payment of a discretionary bonus to staff, with all eligible full-time team members representing around 99% of Sands China’s 28,000-strong workforce to receive the equivalent of one month’s additional pay.
Sands said the discretionary bonus will be paid on 6 February 2026 in appreciation of team members’ hard work and dedication over the past year. In addition, the company will implement a salary increase for eligible team members effective 1 March 2026, benefiting 99% of Sands China’s nearly 28,000 team members.
On 6 February, eligible non-management team members who have been with the company for one year or more will receive a discretionary bonus equivalent to one month’s pay. For management team members, the discretionary bonus will be calculated based on the company’s results and individual performance ratings under the discretionary bonus scheme.
Eligible full-time team members who have been with the company for less than one year will receive prorated bonuses, provided they joined the company on or before 1 October 2025, and remain employed on the bonus payout date.
The salary increase will see eligible full-time team members earning monthly salaries of MOP$16,000 (US$2,000) or below (before tax) receive a pay rise of MOP$500 (US$62.50), representing a salary increase of approximately 3.1% to 4.0%. Eligible full-time team members earning monthly salaries above MOP$16,000 (before tax) will receive a 2% pay rise.
In a message to team members, Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd, said, “2025 has been a record-breaking year for Sands China. With the team’s outstanding collaboration and strong execution, a series of major events took place throughout the year, bringing the Group’s cumulative visitor numbers beyond 1.1 billion.
“We hosted the NBA China Games at the fully upgraded Venetian Arena, successfully bringing Macau’s ‘City of Sports’ brand onto the global stage, and we continued to introduce high-quality ‘tourism+’ events, delivering nearly 600 events across MICE, entertainment, sports, and arts and culture, further supporting Macau’s development as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”
He added that Sands China considers Macau its home and remains committed to fulfilling its social responsibilities by deepening cooperation with local small and medium-sized enterprises, while actively investing in community care and talent development.
“These achievements are made possible by the professionalism, commitment and perseverance of our team members,” Chum continued. “On behalf of our board of directors and management team, I sincerely thank everyone for their efforts, and I am pleased to announce a discretionary bonus and a salary increase for all eligible team members in appreciation of their contributions.
