The China Tourism Academy (CTA) has announced its “2024 Chinese Travellers Outbound Satisfaction Top 10 Destinations”, with Macau ranked in first place.

Officially unveiled at an event in Beijing last week, the 2024 list saw destinations ranked in the following order: Macau, Singapore, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Spain, Hong Kong, France, Australia, Malaysia and Argentina.

Macau ranked third in 2023, and according to the CTA’s satisfaction survey of outbound travelers from China, Macau jumped to the top spot in 2024 thanks to appeal in the areas of “entertainment and leisure” and “attitude of local residents”.

The CTA is a professional research organization directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China. It is mainly responsible for tourism policy and theory research, research on the integration and development of culture and tourism and statistics and data analysis on culture and tourism.

Macau’s visitor arrivals from mainland China have been on the rise. The SAR welcomed 3,372,081 visitor arrivals in May this year, of which 2,439,936 were Mainland visitors – a year-on-year increase of 31.4%.
