Visitor arrivals to Singapore rose 16.2% year-on-year to 1,055,000 in January, the highest total ever recorded for the month, the Singapore Tourism Board said on Monday.
The greatest year-on-year increase was among visitors from Hong Kong-up 51% in January; while visitor numbers from Thailand were up 34.9%.
Visitors from Indonesia (208,000), China (132,000), Australia (98,000), Malaysia (78,000), and India (63,000), accounted for 55% of all foreign tourist arrivals. Hotel room revenue for the month rose 25.8% to S$176 million.
