In November 2024, 1xBet was pleased to announce Philippines national team basketball player Chris Newsome to its team of brand ambassadors. The bookmaker is used to working with the best and adhering to high standards, as evidence by the company’s affiliate program. 1xPartners is one of the best in the industry, the company explains and was recognized at the SBC Awards and IGA.

Newsome says he was attracted to 1xbet by his shared values.

“What I value most is that the brand recognizes my qualities and professionalism off the court as well as my skills on it. Creating unforgettable impressions for fans is an important goal for me and with 1xBet’s support, I plan to actively engage with the public on social media,” he said.

Newsome was born on 25 July 1990 in California. Basketball appeared in his life in the 5th grade, but before that, little Chris loved baseball and football more. In the USA, he played at the NCAA Division II level before in 2013 moving to his mother’s homeland – the Philippines. In 2015, Newsome began his professional career at the Meralco Bolts club. His first season at the top was successful – Newsome was recognized as the PBA Rookie of the Year. Still, the first Philippine League champion title was postponed until 2024, when Newsome led the Meralco Bolts to a historic achievement, becoming MVP of the final series in the process.

The 34-year-old Filipino understands the long road to success.

“The biggest challenge I faced was the mental aspect. You must persevere on both good and bad days. When you’re young, you must sacrifice something to succeed in your career,” he said.

Newsome explains the secret to his athletic longevity, stating, “Before big clashes, I usually get a massage to relax and play video games to take my mind off basketball for a moment. It helps me fully focus on the match when it’s time to play. In my free time, I like watching movies, listening to music, and constantly learning new things.”

2024 became a pivotal year for Newsome, both in sports and his personal life. On 11 November at 11:11am, he proposed to his fiancée Cam and received a positive response. The happy couple first met in 2011 while the athlete played in the US college league.

Asia is the most populated part of the world and a strategically important region for 1xBet. 1xPartners proves that a reliable affiliate program can fruitfully collaborate with many people. This program unites over 100,000 affiliates worldwide and enjoys more than 3,000,000 users. Up to 65% of registered players get converted into the first depositors, and commissions of up to 50% for every referred registered client are the main advantages of 1xPartners.

Newsome notes that basketball is becoming increasingly popular in Asian countries, with both the level of play and infrastructure improving. In the 21st century, the Basketball World Cup has already been held in Asia three times and in 2027 it will return to the region again – Qatar will host the tournament.

1xBet and Newsome will make the necessary efforts to ensure that the game continues to develop in Asia.

“Basketball goes far beyond citizenship, age, gender and geography,” he said. “It can comfort in difficult times and allows many to fully express themselves. I was once a child who needed just one chance. Now, with the support of 1xBet, I will do everything to give that chance to others.

“We aim to reach more communities and create appropriate conditions for both young and experienced basketball players. They should have an opportunity to showcase their talents and get a boost in their professional careers.”

Newsome calls winning the gold medal at the Asian Games in 2022 the highlight of his career — that’s when FIBA gave the player permission to perform for the national team. The Philippines waited 61 years for this success, while the dividends from 1xPartners are coming much faster. The program guarantees participants favorable conditions: 1) automatic weekly commission payouts, 2) rapidly updated real-time stats, and 3) a personal assistant to help resolve customer issues.
