Malaysian gaming equipment distributor RGB International Bhd booked a record quarter in the three months to 31 December 2024, with group-wide revenue climbing 271% year-on-year to MYR371.8 million (US$83.9 million). Profit of MYR49.9 million (US$11.3 million) reversed an MYR36.7 million (US$8.3 million) loss a year earlier.
The 4Q24 revenue made up almost half of RGB’s full-year revenue of MYR775.7 million (US$175 million) – up 11% year-on-year – and was due to completion of a bulk order of electronic gaming machines to Philippine gaming regulator PAGCOR.
By segment, Sales and Marketing revenue grew by 338% to MYR348.4 million (US$78.7 million) thanks to the bulk EGM order, while Technical Support and Management grew by 20% to MYR22.7 million (US$5.1 million).
RGB reported a profit for FY24 of MYR116.0 million (US$26.2 million), representing a 254% year-on-year increase.
In comments accompanying its results release, RGB said it maintains robust prospects for the future, “bolstered by the promising market conditions, especially in key areas including the Philippines and Cambodia.
“PAGCOR has announced that the country’s Gross Gaming Revenue in 2024 is targeted to hit a record Php334 billion (US$5.8 billion) and a 2025 target of Php350 billion (US$6.0 billion). “Additionally, the Group is strategically expanding its presence in Cambodia. As a pivotal slot machine distributor and major player in the machine concession business in the region, the Group is well positioned to capitalise on this industry growth.
“The Group remains vigilant for emerging opportunities including prospect of new and upcoming markets. Barring unforeseen circumstances, the Group expects to achieve a satisfactory performance in 2025.”
