Hann Resorts has held a groundbreaking ceremony for a 10-hectare public park that will form part of its expansive Hann Reserve development in New Clark City. The park forms part of the company’s commitment to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), providing an area open to residents and visitors alike to relax or take part in various recreational activities.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by, among others, Hann Philippines Chairman and CEO Dae Sik Han, Hann Philippines VP for Real Estate and Property Development Neki Liwanag, Hann Philippines Director of Corporate Planning Andrea Sigua and BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang.

According to details from Hann Resorts, the public park concept intertwines the cultural richness of Philippine folklore with the aesthetic of Mount Pinatubo, offering an immersive experience where nature and heritage converge. The park provides a space for exploration, relaxation and cultural appreciation through creative designs inspired by traditional dances and volcanic elements.

Among the activities available will be mountain bike trails, fitness areas and elevated treetop bridges aimed at creating an exhilarating environment for physical challenges and adventure, as well as seating areas, signages and public – all part of a zone to be completed by the end of 2026.

The public park will include a viewing deck

The Phase 2 Passive Zone, to be completed by 2028, will offer shaded walkways, tranquil seating and artistic sculptures, while Phase 3, scheduled for a 2030 finish, will offer folklore-inspired stick structures with volcanic rock formations, slides, climbing areas and interactive elements encourage young adventurers to explore.

Hann said the ongoing construction of Phase 1 adheres to the committed land area of 3.45 hectares, with a view deck that will offer stunning views of the natural and built environment and all other amenities, which will be incorporated into the final design.

The elevated walkways will allows flora to grow around and underneath pathways while a mini golf area will focus on accessibility to ensure it is available to people of all ages.

“The project prioritizes sustainability by maximizing the use of existing vegetation and native trees. The greenery will consist of resilient plants that support natural growth patterns and require minimal watering,” the company explained.

“The park is designed to accommodate visitors of all abilities, with accessible features like the amphitheater, mini golf, walkways and picnic areas. Public art will be installed throughout the park to enhance the visitor experience and foster inclusivity.

“By incorporating innovative design elements, prioritizing sustainability, and ensuring accessibility, the public park will become a tourist attraction for generations.”

BDCA President and CEO Bingcang said, “Today marks a milestone for our community as Hann Reserve donates a premier public park to New Clark City in Tarlac. This park is a promise of a greener and healthier future for all our citizens. We believe that public spaces like these foster connection, well-being, and a sense of belonging. Let us appreciate and cherish this  for generations to come.”

Dae Sik Han added, “This public park is a gift to the residents; it is for everyone, for the community of New Clark City, Tarlac. It encourages physical fitness and social interaction among residents. Hann Reserve will attract both local and international lifestyle seekers of golf, wellness, nature-based leisure, and entertainment. This public park will add to their exceptional experiences.”

The broader Hann Reserve development on 450 hectares in New Clark City will feature three 18-hole championship golf courses, the Philippines’ only PGA-affiliated player development facilities, international luxury hotel brands, a commercial center, casino, exclusive residences and an international school.
