This year’s SBC Summit, the first to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, will include a dedicated “Global Leadership” conference track taking place across all three core day.

The summit will take place at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa from 24 to 26 September, having relocated from its former home of Barcelona this year.

Attendees can expect a variety of leadership-focused discussions addressing key issues such as the measured and effective use of artificial intelligence (AI), optimal marketing strategies for iGaming, the impact of the global economy on investment in the gaming industry, innovating traditional lotteries for the digital age, and more, according to information from organizers.

Underscoring the global reach of the event, the educational program will also feature dedicated leadership panels focusing on key markets such as Africa, Asia, Brazil, Eurasia, Italy, Latin America, North America, Portugal and Spain.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, said, “When you look at the numerous companies driving innovation and advancing the industry, a common factor stands out: exceptional and unique leadership.

“Apart from equipping our delegates with the necessary tools for success, we emphasise the thought processes and, most importantly, the attitude essential for both personal and professional development. I look forward to hosting the industry’s brightest leaders this September to share these insights with our delegates.”

The opening day of the track will focus on the emerging technologies, marketing strategies, and payment options impacting global markets.

Discussions will explore new technologies, trends and talent set to disrupt the industry over the next decade, the impact of global regulations on the use of alternative currencies like crypto in gambling, and developing effective iGaming marketing strategies centred on brand and customer engagement.”

Additionally, the first core day of the summit will see the return of the First Pitch Competition. The competition will see five industry start-ups pitch their product and services in front of investors and a live audience for the chance to win an exclusive industry prize package worth over €60,000.

On the second day of the summit, delegates will gain a global perspective on the industry through an in-depth analysis of key markets, featuring insights from leading figures in those regions. Highlights will include reflections on the first six months of Brazil’s newly regulated sports betting market, an exploration of the burgeoning Eurasian iGaming market, discussions on whether regulation will enhance or restrict opportunities in Africa, strategies for Latin American operators to achieve regulatory cohesion, and initiatives to spur growth in Asia despite recent regulatory setbacks.

The final day of the summit will primarily focus on the financial and regulatory issues impacting global markets. Throughout the day, delegates will have the opportunity to gain insights into how global inflationary pressures are impacting mergers and acquisitions, the repercussions of the recently announced Italian regulations on the market’s potential, and whether Portugal’s regulatory model is adequate to tackle issues of unregulated activity.

The conference program will feature a selection of prominent C-level executives who have significantly influenced their respective industries. Experts already confirmed include Livia Troise (CEO, Betmais), Alex Fonseca (CEO, Superbet), Andreas Bardun (CEO, KTO Group), William Scott (Chairman, Meridianbet), Gonzalo Perez (CEO, Apuesta Total), Zeno Ossko (CEO, Betwarrior), Xabier Maribona (CEO, Retabet Group), Aviv Sher (CEO, Codere), JD Duarte (CEO, Betcris), Kresimir Spajic (CEO, Betfred USA), Stefan Nelson (CFO, LeoVegas) and Mike Goode (CFO, Kwiff), amongst others.

In addition to the “Global Leadership” track, delegates can explore a multitude of educational programmes through the Sports Betting Zone, Casino & iGaming Zone and Player Protection Zone, the Media Headquarters and dedicated Affiliate Leaders, Payment Expert & ESI Lisbon Summits. Each area will include a dedicated show floor, targeted networking sessions, catering options, and a focused educational program.
