The CasinoBeats Summit 2024, to be held at the InterContinental Malta from 21 to 23 May, will this year champion women in the casino industry with an array of empowering activities planned, including dedicated meditation sessions, yoga classes, leadership talks and a poker tournament.

According to organizer SBC, the activities aim to foster a sense of community while addressing crucial issues such as stress management and leadership empowerment.

“It’s a platform for women to unite, share their successes and cultivate the leadership qualities needed to thrive in the industry,” said Natalie Lees, Senior Conference Producer at SBC.

“It was really important for us to bring practical takeaways from these sessions and structure the day to ensure a seamless flow from each session. It is all about providing a collaborative, fun and educational experience at CasinoBeats Summit, fostering both personal and professional growth.”

The CasinoBeats Summit 2024 will include a Women in Gaming Day on the second day of the event, Thursday 23 May, starting with a Women in Gaming Breakfast – providing a space for women in the industry to come together and network over breakfast, setting the tone for the rest of the day.

The first workshop of the day is titled Mindful Mastery: A Meditation Workshop for Stress Management and Presence and will be led by yoga experts Ana Luiza Cardoso and Svetlana Abela. It will delve into meditation fundamentals, providing insights into stress management and practical techniques for immediate relief. Participants will learn to integrate mindfulness into their daily routines, enhancing their clarity and efficiency in tackling multiple responsibilities. During this workshop, women will have the opportunity to partake in meditation and yoga sessions that are tailored to accommodate conference settings and can be comfortably performed in regular attire.

Another workshop titled Voices Unveiled: Illuminating Bias through Shared Stories will see leaders from Global Gaming Women, the Women in Gaming group and other industry leaders present real-life experiences of women in our industry. The session will comprise statements collected anonymously prior to the event detailing the various challenges women encounter, including but not limited to mental health struggles, physical ailments, and other obstacles they face in the workplace.

In addition to fostering empathy, understanding, and a collective commitment to positive change, the workshop will seek to amplify the voices of those who may otherwise remain unheard, and empower leaders to take meaningful action in addressing these issues head-on.

The High Stakes Leadership workshop will explore effective strategies for confidently navigating times of stress and change in the workplace. The closed-door mentorship session will be led by Emily Haruko Leeb, Co-Founder & CEO of Saroca and Claire Adamou, VP of Development at Saroca, a company that specializes in elevating gaming industry businesses through targeted leadership development programs and organisational effectiveness consulting. Attendees will receive the tools to enhance communication, bolster trust and boost productivity within their team and client relationships.

Concluding the day, attendees will have the opportunity to put their poker skills to the test in a competitive 100-person poker tournament, hosted by Ivonne Montealegre, CEO of Fiebre Ltd. The tournament, in partnership with Casino Malta, is scheduled to take place at 3pm and will be located on the exhibition floor, serving as an ideal platform for participants to enjoy games of poker while further strengthening their bonds.

All sessions mentioned are set to take place in the Workshop Room on Level 2. To participate in the workshops, register your interest here.
