How Macau’s concessionaires can broaden Macau’s tourism appeal to new international customers, and where they might find them, will form the basis of an intriguing presentation by Professor Wang Changbin, Director of the Centre for Gaming and Tourism Studies at Macao Polytechnic University, at MGS Summit on Tuesday.
The presentation, titled “The Gaming industry in the post pandemic world and Macau: Trends and strategies”, will also explore the key factors that have aided Macau’s recovery since the easing of border restrictions in January.
With tourism returning to normal and Macau having unique advantages such as being close to mainland China and its clustering effect, the city’s gaming industry is expected to maintain a stable recovery. But to attract international tourists, Macau needs to exert more effort – particularly since more and more Asian countries have been legalizing and expanding their own gaming industries and many adopting more attractive tax rates.
This presentation from one of the leading industry experts in Macau will explore trends and strategies that have emerged as a result of these developments.
MGS Summit will kick off from 11am on Tuesday with a Keynote Address to be delivered by Kevin Kelley, Chief Operating Officer – Macau at Galaxy Entertainment Group, from 11:05am.
There will also be a session presented GLI’s Ian Hughes exploring the future use of AI in gaming, a discussion involving leading industry suppliers on market developments across Asia, a panel session featuring representatives of Macau’s concessionaires on the opportunities and challenges they face under their new 10-year concessions, and a discussion on remote gaming in the Philippines.
