G2E Asia returns to Macau for the first time in four years today, with the long-running trade show kicking off at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo.
Running for three days from 11 to 13 July, this year’s G2E Asia Macau – which follows the recent G2E Asia Special Edition: Singapore – will also form part of a unique double-header alongside what organizer Reed Exhibitions (RX) is calling the Asian IR Expo. This non-gaming focussed expo will feature companies and representatives from the broader IR industry, including regional tourism boards, travel companies, Esports firms, sports media and management firms, art curators and IP owners, and various companies associated with technologies such as artificial intelligence.
While G2E Asia will continue to focus on the Asian gaming industry, the Asian IR Expo serves as a nod to the Macau SAR Government’s efforts to promote diversification of the Macau economy away from its reliance on gaming revenues.
According to RX, more than 100 exhibitors will take part across the two adjacent exhibitions, covering a combined 15,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Also returning to Macau is the G2E Asia Conference, to be managed by Inside Asian Gaming as the official Conference Organizer.
This year’s G2E Asia Conference in Macau will feature two distinct tracks: an Asian IR Expo track focusing on tourism and non-gaming topics and the G2E Asia conference track itself, focusing on topics related to the regional gaming industry.
The G2E Asia Conference will open this morning with a Keynote Speech from Sands China President Dr Wilfred Wong, to be followed this afternoon with panel sessions featuring the likes of MGM China President and COO Hubert Wang, President of Global Development for MGM Resorts, Ed Bowers, and COO of Inspire Entertainment Resort in Korea, Chen Si.
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco will deliver a Keynote Speech of his own on Thursday morning.
The Asian IR Summit, to be held separately from the G2E Asia Conference, will feature representatives of the regional tourism industry including a presentation this afternoon from Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office.
IAG will also host a brand new networking event on Wednesday night, “The Industry Party”, to be held at MGM Cotai’s Vista for invited guests.
