Electronic gaming machine distributor RGB International Berhad has named former Head of Equity Research for JP Morgan Malaysia, Ng Keng Luen, as its new Chief Strategy Officer.
With the company looking to expand as it recovers from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, RGB said in a filing that 41-year-old Ng has almost 20 years of experience in the financial market, including a decade with Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2005 till 2014.
He later joined APS Asset Management as Senior Vice President, Head of Research, then joined Deutsche Bank in Singapore as Director & ASEAN Equity Strategist from 2015 untill 2019. In 2020 he was made the Head of ASEAN Research in China Renaissance before joining JP Morgan from August 2020 through to June 2023.
RGB, which recently signed on as official Asian distributor for the slot machine arm of South Korea’s Kangwon Land, reported a profit of MYR10.5 million (US$2.3 million) in 1Q23, up 418% year-on-year.
