Kazuo Okada has appointed a new high-profile spokesperson as he continues his push to regain control of Philippines integrated resort, Okada Manila.
Despite his brief takeover of the property coming to an end last month when gaming regulator PAGCOR reinstated the previous board of Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc (TRLEI), representatives of Mr Okada revealed Friday that he has appointed seasoned law practitioner Attorney Rico Paolo R. Quicho as his spokesperson.
Quicho, presently the Dean of Universidad de Manila College of Law and former Dean of University of Makati School of Law, is said to have previously fulfilled similar roles for Vice President Jejomar C. Binay and Chief Justice Renato C. Corona.
It was also revealed that Quicho intends to meet with members of the media next week “to share Chairman Kazuo Okada’s continuing pursuit of his long-term vision for Okada Manila and the promotion of Manila as a top international tourism and legitimate gaming destination.”
According to information sent to IAG, the spokesperson’s media session will “touch on corporate issues and developments involving Okada Manila from Chairman Okada’s perspective, to the extent legally permissible under present circumstances.”
Mr Okada was ousted as Chairman of both TRLEI and its parent company Universal Entertainment Corp in 2017 amid allegations he had defrauded the company he founded.
