Macau gaming concessionaire SJM Resorts, previously known as Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, S.A., says its recent vaccination drive saw 3,600 employees and their family members complete their COVID-19 vaccinations.

SJM’s “2021 SJM Vaccination Encouragement Programme” had seen the company set up a vaccination center at Grand Lisboa’s Grand Ballroom, with each staff member who received their vaccination promised up to three days special paid leave and the chance to win lucky draw prizes.

According to SJM, the initiative, originally due to run for two days on 21 and 22 June, was so popular that it was extended for an additional two days through 24 June.

SJM Chairman Daisy Ho said, “It is encouraging to note that our vaccination encouragement programme and educational seminar in partnership with the Health Bureau have received overwhelming response from our team members. Vaccination is a top priority in the fight against the pandemic.

“SJM fully supports the Macau Government in boosting the vaccination rates in order to build an immune barrier in the community for the health and safety of residents and visitors.”

Managing Director Angela Leong added, “I am very pleased to see so many staff members bringing their family members to join our vaccination sessions. I am very grateful to the frontline medical staff for their hard work and our team members for their enthusiastic support. Together, we join forces in protecting the health and safety of the community.”

SJM also held a Novel Coronavirus Vaccination Seminar in partnership with the Health Bureau on 11 June aimed at boosting employees’ confidence about the safety of vaccines.
