The World Poker Tour has announced its first online tournament series for players in India, with WPT Online India scheduled to take place in November in partnership with Delta Corp’s market leading poker site Adda52.

The series, offering 154 separate events over 18 days from 5 to 22 November, highlighted by the INR11,000 (US$150) buy-in main event starting on 11 November. Aside from taking the largest share from the main event prize pool – which comes with a guarantee of INR25 million (US$340,000) – the winner will also receive a US$5,000 WPT Passport to be used at any live WPT event around the globe plus a Hublot watch valued at US$10,400.

“The World Poker Tour is pleased to be joining forces with Adda52 once again to extend our partnership into the online realm,” said Angelica Hael, VP of Global Tour Management for the WPT. “The WPT Online brand now advances to another thriving market and we look forward to a great series with the Indian online community.”

Danny McDonagh, WPT’s Live Events Specialist, added, “Adda52 and the growing Indian player base make for a perfect combination to bring WPT Online brand to the Asia-Pacific region.

“Following our record-breaking success with live WPT India events, we expect to exceed even our own expectations for the upcoming series.”
