Melco Resorts & Entertainment has mobilized its Macau workforce to support the local community through the company’s “Simple Acts of Kindness” initiative.
The company said it will send thousands of volunteers to take part in various events during work hours in the coming weeks, supporting the likes of The Salvation Army (Macau) Education Center, Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre, Peng On Tung Tele-assistance Service Centre of Macau, The General Union of Neighborhood Macau – Cheng I Elderly Center, SMEs and more.

Among the notable events, 220 Melco employees recently designed and created personalized Mother’s Day cards for the elderly before greeting them in smaller sized groups and presenting the cards as gifts along with daily essentials such as rice, oil and hand sanitizer.
“We are grateful for the Macau government’s proactive and decisive response in containing the spread of the recent coronavirus outbreak, resulting in zero new incidents for Macau in the last 29 consecutive days [as at Friday 8 May],” said Melco Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho.
“The timing is now favorable for us to deploy our volunteers back into the community, as our top priority is, as always, the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, community partners and beneficiaries. We sincerely thank our colleagues for their eager participation, giving back to the community and embracing Melco’s ‘Simple Acts of Kindness’ philosophy.”
