Galaxy Entertainment Group has looked to strengthen its Japan IR ambitions by promoting its global MICE capabilities, including the impending launch of the Galaxy International Convention Center (GICC) and Galaxy Arena as part of its Galaxy Macau Phase 3 development.
MICE was a key theme at a press conference held by Galaxy in Osaka on Wednesday, where it introduced GICC as “Asia’s most iconic and advanced integrated MICE destination when it opens in Macau in the first half of 2021.”
‘‘We are honored to introduce state of the art MICE and Arena facilities to attract new visitors and complement the Macau Government’s vision of diversifying the economy and developing Macau into a World Center of Tourism and Leisure,” GEG Chairman Dr Lui Che Woo was quoted as saying in a press pack distributed at the event.

GICC will cover 40,000 square meters of MICE space including a 10,000-square meter exhibition and conference hall. It will also be home to the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena for concerts and sporting events.
The 10,000-square meter exhibition hall is notable for its lack of pillars, while other spaces will include an auditorium seating 650 guests for keynote sessions, ceremonies, performances and product launches; a banquet hall seating 2,400 guests; a 4,000-square meter conference hall consisting of three partitionable spaces; a ballroom catering for over 1,000 guests; a selection of dining options and a luxury lifestyle hotel with over 700 rooms.
