The Nagasaki/Sasebo IR Promotion Council has officially launched its Request for Concept (RFC) process as part of its bid to develop an integrated resort at Sasebo’s Huis Ten Bosch.
Based on the prefecture’s Fundamental Proposal, published on its website on Tuesday, RFCs should include specific plans on items such as business strategy, facility design, operations policy, efforts to increase IR appeal, sustainability and countermeasures to problem gambling.
By seeking concepts at an early stage, Nagasaki hopes to form a deeper relationship with operators to accelerate an opening for 2024.
NagaCorp, Casinos Austria, Hong Kong-listed Get Nice Holdings, South Africa’s Peermont Global and a handful of Japanese firms have expressed an interest in Nagasaki.
The registration period for applicants runs from 2 October 2019 to 5pm on 22 November 2019.
Operators can email s36070@pref.nagasaki.lg.jp for more details.
