KPMG, a specialist network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services, is holding an eGaming Summit in Gibraltar, one of the world’s leading online gaming jurisdictions.

PRESS RELEASE

The KPMG eGaming Summit, which is by invite only, will be held on Thursday 31 March on the top floor of the Leisure Business Centre in Ocean Village. It will bring together key stakeholders and decision makers to consider and debate how to ensure Gibraltar remains the premier gaming jurisdiction in light of developments and the direction of the sector both locally and globally.

Gibraltar’s Chief Minister Peter Caruana will open the event.

The morning programme will consider issues impacting on the sector, with specific emphasis on those licensed and operating from Gibraltar, including regulation, banking, player safety and changing global attitudes to the sector.

The morning will close with a panel session on ‘The opportunity & risks for Gibraltar’, then the delegates will break for a buffet lunch, appropriately situated in the Gala Casino.

Following lunch, a lively group of speakers will lead sessions on current and future developments for the sector, with insight into some cutting edge ideas. Finally, the summit will close with a panel session of key industry figures, who will focus on ‘Looking to the future’.

Mike Harvey, Director for KPMG Gibraltar, commented: “The eGaming sector is expanding globally, and is already a major contributor to our local economy.  It is crucially important that Gibraltar continues to make itself an attractive jurisdiction for the licensing and operation of online gaming companies.  This involves input from the government, key industry players and service providers in finance, IT and a variety of other key sectors.  This summit will bring those key players together to discuss the needs of the industry as it grows and develops.”

David McGarry, KPMG’s Managing Director, added ‘I am very much looking forward to the Summit and would like to take this opportunity to thank those companies who have provided sponsorship, key amongst whom are PartyGaming, Gibtelecom, Passoker and HR Go”.
