‘Relief’ that G2E is switching dates in 2011

A boss at one of the world’s leading gaming equipment suppliers says he is “relieved” that from 2011 G2E in Las Vegas will be held in October rather than November.

“We are relieved that this year’s G2E will be the last one to take place in November and we are pleased that future shows have been scheduled for early October,” said Jens Halle, Managing Director of Austrian Gaming Industries, in a company statement.

The November date has never been hugely popular with the industry. The timing has been seen as more to do with helping out the Las Vegas tourism industry in a traditionally quiet time in the run up to Thanksgiving and Christmas than about satisfying the buying schedules of the global gaming industry. Now in response to industry needs, for at least three years, beginning in 2011, the show will be hosted by the Sands Exhibition Center in October.

The October date from 2011 will mean a more evenly spaced events calendar for international industry get togethers, with G2E Asia in Macau in June, G2E in October and the International Gaming Expo in London in January.

AGI is determined however to see off the November version of G2E in style this year, with a major exhibition of its products from 16th to 18th November at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

“We will be showing the largest product portfolio ever in Las Vegas from slots to multiplayer products and systems, which now represent a whole new business unit for AGI. I am positive that our customers will be impressed by this comprehensive offering of products and solutions,” stated Mr Halle.

AGI will be at booth number 2258 at LVCC, and will feature Octavian jackpot and systems equipment as well as the company’s Novomatic brand slots and multiplayers.

Novomatic products on display include the NOVOSTAR® SL2 and the Super-V+ Gaminator® with the latest Coolfire™ II multi-game mixes. With up to 27 games per multi-game mix, up to seven player-selectable denominations, multi-language options as well as a great choice of high/low line-games (5 to 40 lines selectable) AGI says these multi-game mixes offer maximum flexibility for the operator and guests alike. The company says there are currently more than 45 different mixes available, with frequent new game releases.

A further AGI attraction in Las Vegas will be the Ultimate™ 10 multi-game mixes A-G. The company says this new and growing range of multi-game mixes is based on the new Coolfire™ I+ gaming platform and is available in the popular Gaminator® cabinet. The Coolfire™ I+ platform combines the benefits of Coolfire™ II technology with the cost effective price structure of the former Coolfire™ I platform;which the company says offers benefits for the more cost-conscious customer segment.

Novomatic will also display a comprehensive multiplayer installation comprising Novo Multi-Roulette™, Novo TouchBet® Baccarat, Novo Flying Black Jack™ as well as Novo Flying 3-Card Poker™ and Novo Flying Carribean Poker™ – all in one system and all available on each of the linked individual player stations. This multiplayer multi-game functionality adds maximum comfort and convenience for the guest and maximum flexibility for the operator. Running on the server based Novo Unity™ II multiplayer platform it allows casinos to link any chosen number of terminals to different games such as Roulette, Baccarat, Poker and Black Jack to make all those games available at every single player station. Thus the guest can flexibly switch from one game to another via fingertip touch, without having to leave his favourite seat.

The product presentation will be complemented by a selection of systems and money handling equipment Novomatic acquired from Octavian earlier this year. AGI’s proprietary jackpot system P-Box including the new jackpot theme ‘Fredy Fortuna’ developed through close cooperation with Octavian South America and AGI will also be demonstrated.

The brand new lottery game Six Ball™, an animated betting game based on random number generated draws will be at the Las Vegas stand. It is a fixed odds betting game where 35 numbers are randomly drawn out of 49 available. The aim of the game is to have six matching numbers with the least amount of numbers drawn. The quicker the customer gets all six numbers on a card correct, the more he will win. Guests at AGI’s booth number 2258 at G2E Las Vegas will be the first to test the product.
