MATSUI set the standard for Asia’s casino currency

MATSUI gaming chips made their Singapore debut at the opening of the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort in April. The chips had received approval from Singapore’s fastidious Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) several months earlier, in November 2009, with a visit by the CRA to Matsui’s production facility in Korea part of the rigorous screening process.

Shigeki Machida, MD of Matsui Asia Ltd, Matsui’s Macau sales office, said: “This is another big step for Matsui as a major gaming chip manufacturer. Matsui Chips have been approved in Nevada, Queensland and also in many other jurisdictions. However, getting approval in Singapore is something very special, because everybody knows that they have the toughest standards.”

According to Mr Machida, the majority of casino operators  in Asia now use Matsui Chips. “We have an excellent range of products including our value chips, wheelchecks, plaques and RFID products. Gaming chips are essentially money for casinos—they never place an order with someone who is not trustworthy. We are very proud that major operators in Asia are choosing Matsui Chips, because it proves our quality and security is of the highest level.”

Mr Machida emphasizes that speed is essential to success in the chip manufacturing business. “As the only gaming chip manufacturer with both production facilities and sales offices in Asia, our outstanding service, including very quick artwork turnaround and short delivery time, puts us in a highly competitive position in this rapidly growing marketplace. Our products and service breed confidence among customers, and that is fundamental to our development”.

In addition to gaming chips, Matsui offers highly durable synthetic layouts, traditional wool layouts, and innovative table accessories such as Carmanah LCD Table Signs.
